Introducing something completely different in glass. This fabulous bead is one of several kite shaped beads made in honour of National Kite Flying day. While I'm not sure it's an official day in Canada I am a big kite fan so any time I can fly a kite I will, even if it's only a necklace!
This pretty bead was made using yellow glass wrapped in silver foil and assorted crushed glass to give the colour a kick. This pendant hangs from a Beadstopper bail and 18" wheat style chain.
The Beadstopper hardware is an "add-a-bead" style where the bead can be removed and replaced with another. Just undo the decorative threaded bead at the bottom and you will release the bead in place.
The necklace is an 18" sterling silver wheat style chain. The bead is 35mm long x 22mm wide x 11mm thick.
